The Martial Science Center will again offer a Women's Self Defense seminar on Saturday, July 30.

June 2011: Karate now offered!

The Martial Science is pleased to welcome Dan Kendall Sensei and the Detroit Kakuto Karate Kai, offering instruction in the Japanese mixed martial art of Kudo.

May 2011: Aikido classes begin

The Martial Science Center is pleased to expand its offerings of quality martial arts with Yoshinkai Aikido classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 7 pm under Tom Pakledinaz Sensei and John Parks Sensei. You can try aikido free for the month of May; call 248-703-1471 for more information.

February 2011: Winter Sogo Seminar

The Martial Science Center is offering another Sogo Budo Seminar with highly-skilled, certified instructors from several Japanese martial arts. The seminar is from 2 to 5 pm on Saturday 3/12. Read the flier.

The Martial Science Center and Takuma Kan Iai Jutsu are pleased to present our new video, By the Sword.

November 2010: Free Martial Arts Therapy Workshop

David Reicher M.S., C.B.I.S., co-founder of Martial Arts Therapy, will offer a free class at noon on Saturday 11/6, open to all students ages 5 and up with a neurological deficit, including but not limited to ADD/ADHD, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Crouzon’s syndrome, Down’s syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy, Sensory Integration Dysfunction, Traumatic Brain Injury/Closed Head Injury, Stroke and Behavioral Disorders. October 2010: Free Women's Self Defense Classes

The Martial Science Center, along with the Oakland County Sheriff's Office and the iGroup, announce a series of free women's self defense classes at Athletic Republic on Saturdays in October. Read the story in the Oakland Press.

September 2010: Fall Sogo Seminar

Eight highly qualified instructors will host a seminar on a wide range of martial topics on Sunday, September 12 from noon to 3 pm. See the flier for instructors and topics.

August 2010: Personal Protection Seminar

Parks Sensei will host a Personal Protection Seminar on August 22nd, teaching practical, effective self-defense techniques for students of all ability levels. See the flier for details.

July 2010: Martial Tactical Returns

John Viol Shihan will share more of his effective, efficient tactics--including techniques using daily carry items and their unarmed equivalents--on Saturday, July 24th. We are incredibly lucky to have him share further techniques with us (including many new to previous participants) so plan to attend. See flier for more information.

May 2010: Women's Self Defense Morning Class Starting

Beginning Monday 5/3, the Martial Science Center will offer an ongoing Women's Self Defense class from 10-11 am on Mondays and Thursdays. Come learn effective self-defense, taught by talented instructors in a safe environment. See flier for details.

December 16, 2009: Womens's Self Defense Seminar Announced

The Martial Science Center is hosting another Women's Self Defense Seminar at Athletic Republic in Auburn Hills, on Saturday January 16 from noon to 2 pm. This is straightforward, effective self defense for women of all ages. See the flier for details.

October 23, 2009: Second Martial Tactical Seminar Announced

John Viol Shihan is coming back to Michigan to offer a second Martial Tactical Seminar at the Martial Science Center's new location in Auburn Hills. This seminar will build on the September seminar but new participants are welcome. Students of all experience levels will find much of value in this seminar; see flier for more information.

May 25, 2009: Dues Reminder

Please remember that your dues should be paid before the end of the month--not on the first of the month or the first class you come to in a month. As new tenants at Ultimate Soccer Arenas, we want to be particularly careful to have our rent in on time. Please talk to Parks Sensei immediately if you have issues meeting the dues.
